Most holy and just God,
I am not righteous.
I do not understand spiritual things.
I do not seek after You.
I have turned aside.
I am unprofitable.
I do not do good.
My throat is an open tomb.
I have practiced deceit with my tongue.
My mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.
My feet are swift to shed blood.
My way is one of destruction and misery.
I have not known the way of peace.
There is no fear of You before my eyes.
Your law declares my condemnation.
Your law stops my mouth.
I am guilty before You.
I will not be justified in Your sight by the deeds of the law.
For through Your law I know my sin.
Most holy and merciful Father,
You have revealed Your righteousness apart from the law.
You bear witness to it by the Law and the Prophets.
You have revealed Your righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ.
I believe in Jesus Christ.
I have sinned and fall short of Your glory.
Yet I am justified freely by Your grace.
You justify me through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
You set Him forth for me as a propitiation by His blood.
I receive this through faith.
And You demonstrate Your righteousness, forbearing with prior sin.
You show Yourself just and You justify me in Your crucified Son.
I believe in Jesus.
And so I will not boast in my works.
I am justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.
Praise be to You, the God and Father of my Lord Jesus Christ, in whom You have blessed me with every spiritual blessing of Your Gospel, sealed to me by Your Holy Spirit. Amen.
